Privacy Policy โ€“ SJay Shorts Publisher

Effective date: 1 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SJay Shorts Publisher accesses, uses, stores and protects information when interacting with Google and YouTube services.

1. About SJay Shorts Publisher

SJay Shorts Publisher is a private desktop application used by the owner of the SJay YouTube channel to automate parts of the creation and publishing workflow for short-form music videos.

The application is not currently offered as a public service and does not provide accounts to third-party users.

2. Google OAuth and YouTube access

SJay Shorts Publisher uses Google OAuth 2.0 to request permission to access YouTube on behalf of the authenticated Google account.

The application requests only the Google API permissions necessary for its publishing functionality.

At present, this includes permission to upload videos to the authenticated YouTube channel.

Authorization is provided directly by the Google account owner through Google's OAuth consent process.

3. Information accessed

SJay Shorts Publisher may process the following information as part of its YouTube publishing workflow:

The application does not request access to unrelated Google services such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar or Google Contacts.

4. How information is used

Google and YouTube information is used only to provide the functionality requested by the account owner.

This includes:

Google user data is not used for advertising, profiling or marketing purposes.

5. Storage of credentials and data

SJay Shorts Publisher operates locally on the owner's computer.

OAuth credentials and application state are stored locally in files protected by operating-system file permissions.

OAuth credentials are not intentionally stored on a public web server.

The application does not operate a separate cloud database containing Google user data.

Credentials are transmitted to Google only when necessary to authenticate or communicate with the relevant Google APIs.

6. Sharing of information

SJay Shorts Publisher does not sell, rent or trade Google user data.

Google user data is not shared with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

Information is transmitted to Google and YouTube only as required to authenticate the user and perform the requested YouTube API operations.

7. Google API data use

SJay Shorts Publisher uses information received from Google APIs only for the functionality described in this Privacy Policy.

The application's use of Google user data is intended to comply with Google's API Services User Data Policy and applicable Limited Use requirements.

8. Data retention

OAuth credentials are retained locally for as long as they are required to operate the application or until access is revoked.

Publishing records, including YouTube video identifiers and upload status, may be retained locally so that the application can prevent duplicate uploads and maintain publishing history.

The account owner may delete the locally stored credentials and application data at any time.

9. Revoking Google access

The Google account owner can revoke SJay Shorts Publisher's access at any time through the security and third-party access settings of the Google account.

After access has been revoked, the application will no longer be able to authenticate with YouTube until permission is granted again.

10. Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect locally stored credentials and application data.

Sensitive credentials are excluded from source control and application logs and are protected using local filesystem permissions.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Children's privacy

SJay Shorts Publisher is not designed as a service for children and does not intentionally collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application's functionality, requested Google API permissions or data handling practices change.

The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
